Welcome & farewell

The first message a member sees, designed by you.

A welcome message when someone joins, and a farewell when someone leaves. With the captcha on, the welcome goes out the moment a member verifies, not when they join: before that they could not see the channel anyway.

Two tabs, two messages, each with its own switch, channel and design. The farewell is off until you switch it on; a busy server may not want a line for every departure.

Plan: Free, on every plan

Designed, not typed

Plain text plus up to ten embeds under it, designed in the editor with a live preview. “Show user avatar” puts the member’s picture in the corner of the first one.

Variables that work

{user} mentions the member, {user.name} and {user.tag} name them, {server} is the server’s name, {memberCount} the member count, {inviter} who invited them. They work inside the embeds too.

Test before anyone joins

Save, publish, then Test sends the published message with the bot standing in for the member.

How it works

The dashboard’s tour walks you through these same steps on the page itself, one setting at a time.

  1. 1

    Pick the channel

The blueprint’s general channel is a fine choice; a dedicated welcome channel keeps general quiet on a busy day.

  2. 2

    Write and design

Text, embeds, the avatar thumbnail. The preview shows the message as Discord will.

  3. 3

    Publish

Save keeps a draft; Publish makes it live. From then on every join (or verification) gets it.

What you control

Welcome switch, channel, text, embeds
The message a new member gets.
Farewell switch, channel, text, embeds
The message when someone leaves, off by default.
Show user avatar
The member’s picture as the first embed’s thumbnail.
Test
The published message, sent with the bot as the member.

Questions people ask

Why does the welcome wait for verification?

Because a member who has not solved the captcha cannot see the welcome channel yet. Sending it at the join would greet an empty room.

Can I mention the inviter?

Yes, with {inviter}, when invite tracking is on.

Add the bot, run the tour, invite your members

It takes one afternoon. The captcha, the roles and the welcome are waiting for them.
