Getting started

From adding the bot to a server your members can join: five steps, about an afternoon.

  1. 1

    Add the bot

Press Add to Discord and pick the server. Discord shows the permissions the bot asks for: a written list, never Administrator. Only a member with Manage Server can add it.

  2. 2

    Sign in to the dashboard

Sign in with Discord; the dashboard lists the servers where you have Administrator or Manage Server. Open the one you just added the bot to.

  3. 3

    Answer three questions

Getting started asks what kind of community, how big, and what matters most. The type picks the server blueprint.

  4. 4

    Apply the blueprint

On the Server setup page, decide what happens to the channels you already have, give the bot its role when the card asks, and press Apply. Categories, channels, roles, permissions, AutoMod rules, welcome screen and onboarding questions appear, reported action by action.

  5. 5

    Walk the tour

Start the walk-through on Getting started: it takes you along every page and explains each setting while you set it. Verification, logs, the welcome message and tickets are the ones worth doing before members arrive.

Add the bot, run the tour, invite your members

It takes one afternoon. The captcha, the roles and the welcome are waiting for them.
