The dashboard, page by page
Welcome & farewell
This text is the dashboard’s tour for this page.
1.The first message a member sees
A welcome message when someone joins, and a farewell when someone leaves. With the captcha on, the welcome goes out the moment a member verifies, not when they join: before that they could not see the channel anyway.
2.Welcome and Farewell
Two tabs, two messages, each with its own switch, channel and design. The farewell is off until you switch it on; a busy server may not want a line for every departure.
3.The switch
On sends the message; off keeps everything you designed but sends nothing.
4.The channel
Where the bot posts the message. The blueprint’s general channel is a fine choice; a dedicated welcome channel keeps general quiet on a busy day.
5.The text
Plain text with variables: {user} mentions the member, {user.name} and {user.tag} name them, {server} is the server’s name, {memberCount} the member count, {inviter} who invited them. They work inside the embeds too.
6.The embeds
Up to ten embeds under the text, designed in the editor with a live preview; “Show user avatar” puts the member’s picture in the corner of the first one. Save, publish, then Test sends the published message with the bot standing in for the member, so you can check it before anyone joins.
