AutoMod
Ten rules on top of Discord’s own, with the actions you choose.
Discord’s own AutoMod rules (spam, mention raids, slurs and sexual content, invite links, staff impersonation in names) are created by your server blueprint and run inside Discord, before a message even appears. This is the bot’s own layer on top: rules that read every message the bot sees and act on it.
Ten rules: bad words, repeated text, server invites, external links, excessive caps (70% of the letters), excessive emojis (more than 7), excessive spoilers (more than 5), excessive mentions (more than 5), zalgo text, and anti-spam (more than 5 messages in 5 seconds). Each has an action: do nothing, delete the message, warn, timeout for one hour, kick or ban. Whenever AutoMod is on, known scam and phishing links are deleted as well, whatever the rules say.
Plan: Free, on every plan
On from the first day
AutoMod starts on, with every rule action-less, so only the scam check runs until you choose actions. Off means none of them run; Discord’s native rules keep running regardless.
A warning counts
A rule’s warning goes through the same ladder as /warn: it counts toward the Moderation page’s limit, and reaching the limit acts by itself.
Exemptions per rule
Which roles and channels a rule applies to or leaves alone. Members with Manage Server or Manage Messages are never checked; other bots are skipped unless you say otherwise.
How it works
The dashboard’s tour walks you through these same steps on the page itself, one setting at a time.
- 1
Choose actions
Per rule: nothing, delete, warn, timeout (one hour), kick or ban. The message is deleted for every action.
- 2
Set the details
The word lists (whole words and partial matches), the limits, the allowed websites, whether Discord links pass, the spam window.
- 3
Publish
From that moment the rules run. Every hit is logged to the moderation log channel and the member gets a short DM naming the rule.
What you control
- Per rule: action
- disabled, delete, warn, timeout, kick, ban.
- Per rule: roles and channels
- “Deny for all except” or “Allow for all except” with the list, for roles and for channels.
- Bad words
- Whole-word list and partial-match list, case-insensitive, look-alike letters folded.
- External links
- Allowed websites (subdomains included) and whether Discord links pass.
- Limits
- Caps 70%, emojis 7, spoilers 5, mentions 5, spam 5 messages in 5 seconds, repeated text 80% similar to two earlier messages within a minute.
- Ignore bots
- On by default: a music bot’s link or a feed bot’s repeats do not trip a rule.
Questions people ask
How is this different from Discord’s AutoMod?
Discord’s rules block a message before it appears and cover a fixed set of things. The bot’s rules read messages after they appear, cover things Discord’s do not (caps, emojis, spoilers, zalgo, spam, repeats, your own word lists), and can warn, time out, kick or ban with one setting. The blueprint gives you both.
Can a rule hit a moderator?
No. Members with Manage Server, Administrator or Manage Messages in the channel are never checked.
What does the member see?
One DM: which server, which channel, which rule, and what was done. With DMs closed, the same line appears in the channel for eight seconds.
Add the bot, run the tour, invite your members
It takes one afternoon. The captcha, the roles and the welcome are waiting for them.
