Leveling
This text is the dashboard’s tour for this page.
1.XP, levels and rewards
Members earn XP for what they do; their level follows from it. A level costs 100 times its square: level 1 at 100 XP, level 2 at 400, level 5 at 2,500, level 10 at 10,000. /rank shows a member’s level, XP and place; /leaderboard the top of the server.
2.The switch
On counts XP and hands out level roles; off stops counting, keeps every member’s XP, and takes nothing away.
3.Where XP comes from
Every source has its own switch and starts off. Messages: 1 XP per message by default, at most once every 60 seconds per member, and only for messages of 5 words or more, so spam earns nothing. Voice: 5 XP per minute, credited when the member leaves the channel. Then the optional sources: reactions on announcements (1 XP), engagement with your X posts (5 for a retweet, 4 for a comment), a bonus for the member who invited someone (5% of what the invitee earns), and 50 XP for the inviter when an invitee passes verification. Each source can be limited to certain channels.
4.Role multipliers
A role’s members earn XP faster: 1.5× for boosters, 2× for a supporter role. The highest multiplier a member holds wins. Off by default; switch it on and add roles with their multiplier.
5.The level-up message
Sent when a member reaches a new level: in the announcement channel you pick here, or, with no channel set, in the channel where it happened. {member:mention}, {member:name}, {level} and {server} are filled in; the test button sends one for you.
6.Level roles
A role for reaching a level. Members keep every level role at or below their level, and lose the ones above it when their XP is lowered. The free plan has 5 level roles; Pro has no limit. The bot’s own role must sit above these roles in Discord, or it cannot hand them out.
7.Exclusions
Channels where messages earn nothing (bot-command channels, spam), and roles that never earn XP.
